IVERMECTIN AND PRAZIQUANTEL TABLET

Each uncoated tablet contains :
lvermectin IP 2 mg
Praziquantel IP 50 mg

INDICATIONS :
Parasitic diseases are common in animals. Parasites can affect the skin, ears, stomach and intestines, and the internal organs including the heart, lungs and liver. Several drugs have been developed to kill or prevent parasites such as fleas, ticks, mites and worms. lvermectin is highly effective in treating these ectoparasites like, lice, mites, ticks and
parasitic fly larvae. lvermectin is a semisynthetic, anthelmintic agent for oral administration. lvermectin is derived from the avermectins, a class of highly active broad spectrum, anti parasitic agents isolated from the fermentation products of Streptomyces avermititis. lvermectin belongs to the group, Macrocyclic lactones and is highly effective against a wide
range of parasites from Nematodesto Ectoparasitic arthrapods. Praziquantel is used to treat infections caused by worms in the Schistosoma family of worms. Praziquantel is well absorbed from the G.I Tract Praziquantel increases the permeability of the membranes of parasite cells (certain schistosomes) for calcium ions. The drug thereby induces contraction of the parasites resulting in paralysis in the contracted state. The dying parasites are dislodged from their site of action in the host organism and may enter systemic circulation or may be destroyed by host immune reaction (phagocytosis)
